Founded in 1935, Armstrong Atlantic University is part of the
University System in Georgia. It offers programs on a 250-acre campus that include arts and sciences, education, and the health professions. The composition of its 3300 full-time undergraduate student body is primarily Georgian, with more than nine in ten students come from within the state. There are two sororities, but no fraternities. Very few students live on campus. Popular majors include nursing and elementary education.
