Bond Swamp National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1989 and consists of 6,500 acres. The refuge provides public bank fishing, hiking trails, wildlife observation and public hunting.
This wildlife refuge was created to preserve and protect a diverse, threatened wetland ecosystem manage for endangered and threatened species of wildlife and is located six miles south of Macon, GA, situated along the Ocmulgee River.
