Located on Riverside Parkway, this house and property is the former home of prominent early nineteenth-century Cherokee leader Major Ridge and his family, who struggled to maintain his American Indian heritage while adapting to the white man's culture. The original 1790's log cabin remains at the center of this gracious mansion. Displays include dioramas and photographs as well as artifacts dating from around 8000 B.C.
