WellStar Windy Hill Hospital doors opened in 1973 as Urban Medical Hospital. Today, it features an 18,900 square-foot Outpatient Surgery Center; pharmacy; and the H.O.P.E. program, a short stay and outpatient program for patients needing short-term psychiatric care and chemical dependency treatment. A 29-bed Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) unit is available for patients who have an acute illness and are in need of an extended hospital stay.
Annually, the Sleep Disorders Center at WellStar Windy Hill Hospital studies and treats approximately 3,500 patients to help them reclaim a good night's sleep. The WellStar Sleep Disorders Center is the largest accredited center in the Southeast and is among the top five largest programs in the nation.
