Oak Hill and the Martha Berry Museum

Located on Mount Berry Station on the campus of Berry College, Oak Hill, dating from 1847, was the plantation home of Martha Berry, a cotton broker's daughter who began teaching local children in a one room log cabin in 1902. The cabin eventually developed into Berry College and Ms. Berry received eight honorary degrees and the praise of statesmen and educators for her work. The house is furnished in period and well maintained.
