Comments: Do not rent a vehicle from this company; I rented a Ford Expedition from them last April during my last vacation before deploying to Iraq in May. On the way to my hotel from the rental office the vehicle's tire inflation alarm sounded and I pulled over to discover a small screw in the left rear tire. I changed the tire, drove to the hotel and then called Harpers. They were extremely nice and offered to replace the vehicle if I would be willing to drop it off in Hilo, on the other side of the island. The next day my wife and I drove around the island to Hilo, but since they had already closed by the time I got there so we left a letter and went back to the hotel in Kona. The next day I told them I would keep the vehicle and it was no big deal. After turning the car in and being thanked for my patience with the tire I flew home. A month later I received a bill for $205 accompanied by a picture of a small screw in the tire, with an explanation that the tire was un-repairable and I was responsible. After talking with them via the telephone they agreed to drop the charges or so I thought, last week I received notice that they had filed the bill with a collection agency. I guess since they know I am deployed to Iraq they can take advantage of those serving the country and not have to worry about me challenging the charges!
