Lihue is located in Kauai County (of which it is the county seat) just off the southeastern coast of Kauai Island, between Wailua - Kauai and Kalaheo along Highway 50/56 near Puhi, Nawiliwili, the Kalepa Mountain Forest Reserve, and Wailua Falls.
