Built in 1834 for the medical missionary Dr. Dwight Baldwin this house was later converted to an "officers' club" for the captains and sailors of whaling vessles.

The building is still in its original construction and is maintained by the Lahaina Restoration Society and is the headquarters for the foundation. Visitors can get maps and printed information about Lahaina.

The museum is open daily and there is a small admissions charge.
