This fish market is where the fishing fleet unloads its catch for sale to stores, restaurants and retail. Boats arrive before false dawn to sell and unload their catch, which is iced or frozen at sea. Fish are caught on everything from handlines to electric reels. Fish and lobsters can be speared or caught with a seine or baited trap. Some boats longline, going back and forth along miles of baited hooks held up by floats placed at intervals. Tourists should bring their cameras and capture the brilliant colors of the tropical fish when they are freshly caught. Some such as bluntnose dolphins (mahimahi), give off an iridescent flash when brought to the surface. The action is in island pidgin English, so come and have a cultural experience.
