Hampton, located in north central Iowa on Hwy 3, between
Fort Dodge and
Cedar Falls, is the site of GAR Memorial Hall, built in 1899 to honor Civil War soldiers from
Franklin County. Hampton is also the location of what is considered to be the best example of Richardson Romanesque architecture in northern Iowa -- the
Franklin County Courthouse. Beeds Lake State Park is nearby.
