Keosauqua is located on the shores of the Des Moines River, southeast of Ottumwa on Hwy 1, and is part of the 'Villages of Van Buren' area. These quiet and quaint villages are former riverboat ports, now home to many resident artists and craftspeople, including potters and blacksmiths.
