Buckskin Bill's Defense Tower

Buckskin Bill's Defense Tower Salmon River, Idaho (Historic Buildings) image

Known as the last of the mountain men, Buckskin Bill built this structure as a defense tower against the U.S. Forest Service, at a time when the forest service was trying to get all the land along the Salmon River for wilderness. His nephew eventually obtained clear title for him. There is now a museum here.
