The headwaters of the Coeur d'Alene River are on the southeast slopes of Packsaddle Mountain, within a half dozen miles of
Lake Pend Oreille. However, they flow away from that lake, southeast and then southwest, eventually flowing into
Coeur d'Alene Lake at
Harrison.
