Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge

And Visitor Information Center

This 11,430-acre refuge is composed of the Lake Lowell and Snake River Islands sectors. The Lake Lowell portion was established as a refuge by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1909.

The refuge is home to many species of waterfowl and birds year round, in addition to many species of coyotes, mule deer, raccoon and other cratures.

The scenic visitor information center is open weekdays 7:30 to 4:00.
