Shoshone Medical Center (SMC), located in the heart of the Silver Valley in Kellogg Idaho, is a 25 bed rural hospital serving the Silver Valley of North Idaho. They are a community-owned health care provider offering Emergency Care, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and a full compliment of Outpatient Services.

They have entered a new era in rural healthcare and are excited about the many avenues that are opening up for their small community hospital. In July of 2001, they began a Facility Replacement project in hopes of replacing their aging (1959) facility with one that will better accommodate shorter inpatient stays and outpatient surgery and services. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2003 and the prospect is exciting for the entire community.
