Sawtooth National Recreation Area

Established in 1972, the SNRA is managed by the US Forest Service. Over 300 alpine lakes dot the area. Sawtooth, Boulder, and White Cloud mountains are the headwaters of five major rivers including the Salmon and Big Wood.

Good roads and short loop excursions make this route increasingly popular. The SNRA headquarters are eight miles north of Ketchum on Hwy 75. Summer hours are daily 8:00 to 5:00. In winter, they are 8:00 to 4:30.
