Aurora

Aurora, known as "The City of Lights", staddles the DuPage County/Kane County line about 40 miles west of Chicago along Interstate 88 on the banks of the Fox River.

Community attractions include the Paramount Arts Centre, Walter Payton's Roundhouse Complex & Museum, the Ageless Classics Museum, Phillips Park Golf Club and the Michael Jordan Golf Center.

The main branch of Aurora University, founded in 1893 as Mendota Seminary in Mendota, is located here.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 124,736, an increase of 25,064 since 1990.
