Colchester

Colchester is located in western Illinois in McDonough County about 7 miles southwest of Macomb and Western Illinois University along U.S. 136 south of Spring Lake and east of the LaMoine River.

For locals and visitors alike, Argyle Lake State Park is conveniently located only a few minutes north of town. In addition, golfers will enjoy an outing at Gold Hills Golf Club.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,737, an increase of 92 since 1990.
