East St. Louis

East St. Louis is located in southwestern Illinois in St. Clair County across the Mississippi River from St Louis along Highway 15 near Frank Holten State Park and Horseshoe Lake.

The "Gateway Geyser" fountain is the world's highest at 627 feet including a reflecting pool that is 600 feet in diameter and covers about 6.5 acres with a capacity of five million gallons of water.

Those seeking a post-high school educational experience can find it at East St. Louis Community College Center, the area's community college.
