The General at Eagle Ridge

"The General" is a public 18-hole course located on the grounds of Eagle Ridge Inn & Resort in northwestern Illinois in Jo Daviess County and was rated the #1 golf course in Illinois by the Zagat Survey of America's Top Golf Courses (Feb '03). Quite an accomplishment considering competition from the likes of The Glen Club, Kemper Lakes Golf Club, Cog Hill Golf and Country Club and Chalet Hills Golf Club.

Although no ratings/slopes were available at this writing, yardage from the 4-star tees checks in at 6,800. The 3-star tees play 6,450 yards long, the 2-star tees measure 6,000 yards and the 1-star tees play at 5,350 yards.
