Glencoe Illinois

Glencoe is located in northeastern Illinois in northeastern Cook County between Waukegan and Evanston on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Great Lakes Naval Training Center and Illinois Beach State Park are nearby.

Local attractions include one of the finer public golf courses, Glencoe Golf Club, in the area. In addition, the Chicago Botanic Garden, with its 385 acres of flora (nearly 2 million plants) and fauna (nearly 300 species of birds and wildlife), is located here.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 8,407, a decrease of 92 since 1990.
