Gurnee is located in northeastern Illinois in
Lake County north of
Chicago between
Waukegan and
Antioch along Highway 41 about 5 miles west of
Lake Michigan. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 25,016, an increase of 11,301 since 1990.
Area recreation includes outings at Heather Ridge Golf Course. In addition, "Gurnee Days" is a festival held the second full weekend in August.
