The Harry "Babe" Woodyard State Natural Area encompasses 2.2 miles of the Little Vermillion River which is listed as a statewide significant stream because of its high-quality aquatic features. The site supports 12 state endangered or threatened species and provides habitat for 23 forest interior species. Currently, no facilities have been developed at the newly acquired 1,050-acre site.
