Kewanee is located in western Illinois in southeastern
Henry County 30 miles northeast of
Galesburg on U.S. Highway 34. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 12,481, a decrease of 488 since 1990.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Johnson-Sauk Trail Park is located about 10 miles north of town just to the east of Highway 78. In addition, Baker Park Golf Course welcomes all avid golfers. If festivals are the thing, check out the annual "Hog Capital of the World Festival" during Labor Day weekend.
