The town of Leaf River, established in 1882, is located in northern Illinois in north central
Ogle County along SR 72 overlooking the town's namesake--the Leaf River. The river empties into the
Rock River about 5 miles east-southeast of town and about 10 miles north of
Oregon, the county seat.
