Newark is located in northeastern Illinois in southwestern
Kendall County about 20 miles northeast of
Ottawa and 25 miles west of
Joliet along SR 71. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 934, an increase of 94 since 1990.
Area recreation includes trips to Silver Springs State Park, about 10 miles north-northeast of town, and activities in and around the Fox River, 2 miles to the northwest.
