North Aurora is located in northeastern Illinois in Kane County just north of Aurora about 8 miles west of Naperville. The population estimate for 2000 was about 11,000.One of the highlights of summer is the "North Aurora Days" festival which is held the 1st weekend in August. The 3-day event features some unusual contests including the popular "Night-Light" 9-hole golf tournament using glow-in-the-dark golf balls and a "Big Wheel" race for toddlers in the 2- to 3-year old category. Live music provides a subtle background for all in attendance.
