Park Ridge is located in northeastern Illinois in
Cook County on
Chicago's northwestern city limits about 15 miles inland from
Lake Michigan.
Town history relates that the first settlers in the area came from New England and New York in the early 1830s even though statehood was achieved in 1818. It was incorporated in 1873 under the "Village" form of government before changing to the "City" format in 1910.
