Richmond

Richmond is located in northeastern Illinois in northeastern McHenry County about 15 miles north-northeast of Woodstock, the county seat, one mile from the Wisconsin border and less than 10 miles west of the NE Illinois' Chain O' Lakes system. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,044, an increase of 28 since 1990.

The town can boast of its Governor's Home Town Award garnered in 2000. In addition, one of the high points of every summer is the "Richmond Round-up Days", a 3-day event usually held about the 4th weekend in August.
