Roselle, first established as a way-stop for stages running between
Chicago and
Elgin, is located in northeastern Illinois in northern
DuPage County about 25 miles west of downtown Chicago between
Bartlett and
Wood Dale along Highway 19 near the Busse Wood Reservoir and
Chicago - O'Hare International Airport. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 23,627, an increase of 2,824 since 1990.
One of the highlights of summer is the annual "Taste of Roselle", a 3-day event held the first weekend of August and featuring about 20 food vendors, 3 beer gardens, a carnival and a wide variety of live entertainment. In addition, a Bingo tent, including special "Children's Bingo" times, is a big hit.
