Tuscola is located in central Illinois in
Douglas County (of which it is the county seat) about 35 miles east of
Decatur and 20 miles south of
Champaign along
Interstate 57 about 5 miles east of the
Kaskaskia River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 4,471, an increase of 316 since 1990.
Avid golfers will enjoy the links-style 18-hole Iron Horse golf course and driving range.
One anticipated event of the summer is the "Tuscola Harvest Fest" which is usually held the 4th weekend of August and features a number of food and craft booths, beer garden, live music and activities for the whole family.
