Virginia is located in west central Illinois in
Cass County (of which it is the county seat) about 30 miles west-northwest of
Springfield along Highway 125. The population estimate for 2000 was about 1,700.
Nearby outdoor recreation include trips to Site M SFWA located about 10 miles northwest of town and those activities in, on and around the Illinois River about 15 miles to the west.
