Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden

Located on Bement Avenue, this park occupies 70 acres and features more than 700 animals. Animals roam freely in natural habitats surrounded by exotic plants, wildflowers and trees. In addition, the Discovery Center focuses on the world's vanishing rain forests and animals. A petting zoo, paddle boats and a train also are available.

Open daily 9am-4pm.

Comments: Very nice zoo. Nothing terribly exciting, but it's a very nice walk. The kids liked it a lot, too. They were 4 & 8 when we went there.
