Lisburn is a town in
County Antrim southwest of
Belfast. The original name was Lis-na-garvoch, which became Lisnagarvey in the 17th century when it was settled by Welsh and English tenants of Sir Fulke Conway. After the town was burned 1707, the name was changed to Lisburn. The castle also burned in that fire but the gardens later became a public park.
