Located 23 miles south of I-70 west of Hays City, Cedar Bluff State Park contains a 6,800 acre reservoir of the same name and approximately 1000 acres of park land. Many activities are welcome, such as camping in sites or in cabins, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and sports--volleyball, swimming, and horseshoes. There are 121 utility sites and also large areas for camping, along with two handicapped-accessible cabins. 9000 acres of wildlife area proves the area successful for hunting, fishing, and year-round exploring. Limestone bluffs provide a stunning rustic setting for these outdoor activities. The area office is open year-round Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.The office hours are extended to seven days a week during the camping season.Vehicle, camping and utility permits are required year-round and are available from the office or self-pay station. Threshing Machine Canyon lies just west of the park.
