Located in the South Central Region of the state, in Stafford County and northeast of the town of St. John. Hudson is near the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. The nearest stream is Rattlesnake Creek, a tributary to the Arkansas River, but the nearest rivers are the Arkansas River to the north and the north fork of the Ninnescah river to the south. Hudsons' history centers on the agricultural industry. The first flour mill was created by a German millers son. In 1882 Gustav Krug had migrated from Saxony, Germany and settled on a farm north of Hudson, Kansas. Leaving the farm Mr. Krug organized the Hudson Milling Company in Hudson. The mill is still in operation today. The Union Pacific railroad passes through Hudson, but serves a town to the north called Radium.
