Lake Scott State Park |
Listed by National Geographic's Traveler magazine as one of the country's fifty must-see state parks, Lake Scott State Park is rich with natural wonder including artesian springs, deep wooded canyons, and craggy bluffs, contrasting with the prairies of western Kansas. The park encompasses only 1,180 acres of land and 100 acres of lake. Nature trails provide great hiking opportunities, and camping, swimming, boating, hunting, and fishing are popular. Also located within the park is the Steele Homestead Museum, the El Cuartelejo Indian Pueblo, and Squaw's Den "Battle Ground."
