Mitchell County Historical Museum was originally built as a nurses' home in conjunction with the Mitchell County Community Hospital. The museum came into being in the building in 1971. The museum contains pictures of Mitchell County churches, a furnished parlor, a Veterans' Memorial Room for those in the county who have served in the armed forces, research materials such as original newspapers as far back as 1870, early farming tools, collections of old clothing, and much more.
