Muhlenberg Community Hospital is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of local citizens who donate their time and talents to the Hospital. Employees currently number over 500 with around 70 physicians on staff. The original services of inpatient care, maternity, surgery, lab and X-ray have grown to include cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, long-term care, geriatric psychiatry, home health care, home medical equipment services, ambulance, and specialized surgeries such as cataract, orthopedic, and laparoscopic procedures. Their specialized staff assist in the health care delivery process. In 1996 they formed a joint venture with Saint Thomas Health Services, in Nashville, Tennessee. The joint venture provides physicians to the residents of Muhlenberg County.
