Founded in 1877 as Lexington's first hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital is the area's largest not-for-profit hospital. Since 1959, Saint Joseph Hospital has been located on the corner of Harrodsburg Road and Waller Avenue. On December 1, 1998, Saint Joseph East, formerly Jewish Hospital Lexington, joined Saint Joseph HealthCare. Today, Saint Joseph's medical facilities include:
446-Bed Hospital, Saint Joseph Office Park, Picadome Center, Saint Joseph Hospital Recreation Area, Parker House, The Kentucky Inn Saint Joseph Heart Institute, Diabetes Treatment Center, Keeneland Health Education Center and the Saint Joseph Children's Center.
