Located on a 232-acre campus, Murray State provides instruction for 6000 full-time undergraduates as well as around 1500 graduate students. Founded in 1922, its programs range over a wide number of graduate and undergraduate fields.

Of the more than 1000 bachelor's degrees conferred annually, the most popular majors are elementary education, accounting, and occupational health and safety.
