Eastern Kentucky, known as the Eastern Highlands Region, abounds with awesome natural beauty. This is apparent at such places as Cumberland Gap and Pine Mountain along US Highways 25E and 119, the ancient canyon at The Breaks, Daniel Boone National Forest, Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Resort Park, and Cumberland Falls, 18 miles west of Corbin on KY-90.

Another treasure of the region is Appalacia and its famous crafts, created locally. These can be found at such places as the Appalachian Cultural and Fine Arts Center in Cumberland.
