Located within the Daniel Boone National Forest, this park features Kentucky's natural sandstone arch; Natural Bridge is 30-feet-wide at the top, 40-feet-thick at the center, and 85-feet-wide at the base opening. The unique bridge is accessible from a park trail, or a skylift that offers a spectacular panorama of eastern Kentucky.

The nearby Red River Gorge Geological Area adds color to the landscape; other highlights include Balanced Rock, Devil's Gulch, saltpeter mines and a cave.

Park amenities include Hoedown Island, an open-air dance island located on the lake, below the lodge; pedalboats and hydrobike rentals on Hoedown Island Lake; miniature golf; swimming pool complex; nine hiking trails; year-round interpretive programs; picnicing facilities; an on-site Nature Center houses exhibits about the park as well as trail maps. Park open daily 24 hours.
