Grand Isle State Park |
One of the greatest saltwater fishing in the country, Grand Isle offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The park is the only state-owned and operated public beach and fishing pier on the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Fishing is the biggest attraction. A 400-foot fishing pier is a main feature of the park. It provides both day and night fishing. Surf fishing and crabbing is also excellent along the park's shore. Enjoy catching redfish, speckled trout, sheephead and croaker all year long. This park is also a choice spot for campers, picnickers, swimmers, boaters and photographers. A swimming area with bathhouse and picnic tables is available. There is also a visitor's center with an open pavillion, observation tower and restrooms located close to the beach and 95 improved campsites for camping on the beach.
