Founded in 1981, this educational preserve offers a view of Louisiana's unique habitats from swamps to wetlands. The center includes a hands-on museum, a planetarium, a greenhouse, butterfly gardens and hiking trails that cover 86 acres. The facility is one of the most important resources of environmental education in the South. Naturalists conduct field trips and birdwatching classes.
