Mansfield State Historic Site

This park is the site of the most important battle of the Civil War fought west of the Mississippi. The 44-acre site includes a museum noted for its variety of military artifacts. The interpretive program explains how the badly outnumbered Rebels defeated the Union army, ending the Red River Campaign. The site is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
