Originally part of Concord, the Town of Acton, named after the town in England, is in Middlesex County, 27 miles weat of Boston along State Highway 27 near Walden Pond State Reservation. Acton is close to State Highway 2, and is about six miles southeast of I-495. Nearby are Nagog Pond, Sarah Doublet Forest, and Boxborough. Acton is part of the Boston, Massachusetts-New Hampshire metro area.
Minuteman Isaac Davis, who died in the Battle of Concord, was a resident of Acton.
