Addison Gallery of American Art

The Addison Gallery of American Art houses one of the most important collections of American art in the country. The museum opened to the public in 1931 with a permanent collection that included major works by prominent American artists. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum presents several temporary exhibitions per year and often serves as the only New England venue for nationally touring exhibitions.
