This house stands on part of a land grant given to the "Old Planters" in 1635. Occupied by the Balch family until 1914, this 1636 frame house is one of the oldest in the country, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Rooms are furnished in period.
The Beverly Historical Society maintains a house museum here. Guided tours are conducted Tuesday - Saturday, 11am-4pm, Sunday 1pm-4pm in May through October. Closed holidays.
