A public, non-residential institution, Berkshire Community College offers associate degrees in the arts (AA) and sciences (AS). Students can also take up to two years of preparatory work for transfer to 4-year schools offering bachelor degrees and higher. The Lifelong Learning department offers hundreds of non-credit career training programs and enrichment courses for people of all ages. Seniors can take these at discounted rates.

About 2500 students are enrolled at BCC. Faculty and staff number more than three hundred.
